For years the Gardens, which is a popular spot with children and families, has been blighted by gangs who use the area as a place to sell hard drugs to passers-by, the has reported.

As part of Operation Mandera, Greater Manchester Police has jailed 44 people in a crackdown on the practice.

A specially built mobile billboard screen videos of some of them being captured.

The video shows Ali Ahmed, being chased by undercover police after he is spotted trying to sell drugs.

Ahmed was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison and given a four year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).

Juande Hostey is shown dealing in the Gardens, surrounded by a group of males but is later seen being detained by police officers.

Hostey was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison and also given a five year CBO.

Inspector Phil Spurgeon, from Greater Manchester Police's neighbourhood team, said: "I think it's important that we use some of the money we've seized from criminals, for days like today, where we reassure people that we are taking action.

"It allows us to name and shame those involved and also recognise the hard work that's gone in from officers and other partners."
