Nicola Bulley’s partner Paul Ansell leaves heart-wrenching message on yellow ribbon at the river where she vanished

NICOLA Bulley's partner has left a heart-wrenching message on a yellow ribbon at the river where she vanished.

Paul Ansell was one of the first to attach a bright-coloured bow to the Lancashire bridge, with many others following suit.

On it he penned: "Nikki I love you! XXXXX

"Come home now!"

Photos show the dad-of-two surrounded by family and friends as he writes on the ribbon.

Today, as the search for the mum-of-two reached its 18th painstaking day, more yellow bows lined the bridge.

It came as much of Nicola's family and friends changed their profile pictures on Facebook to the same coloured snap.

The photo is a shot of the 45-year-old, Paul, their two daughters and dog Willow with the border 'Bring Nikki Home'.

Nicola's friend Emma White said it was an effort to "turn Facebook yellow".

She wrote: "Thank you for all the kind words, prayers and thoughts to Nikki’s family and friends.

"The search is still ongoing for that vital piece of information to find Nikki.

"What we do have is love and strength driven from the hope, please share the love and #BringNikkiHome - turning Facebook yellow."

Nicola's friends' heartwarming efforts came as police started widening their search.

It was revealed yesterday that cops were appealing for more CCTV after two men were spotted acting suspiciously the day before the mum vanished.

Police were also said to be hunting a "shabby red van" spotted near a log shed around the time of Nicola's disappearance.

It would appear a marked change on their "main working hypothesis" that she fell into the River Wyre in a "tragic accident".

Paul said in recent days that he is "100 per cent" convinced the mother of his children is not in the river.

The dad-of-two said he thought a local was behind the disappearance of Nicola, and that he expected to be a suspect.

He also revealed the moment he "panicked" after being told how his partner's phone was found on the bench - and how the morning she vanished felt "different".

A pal of Nicola's today praised Paul for his "strength" saying it's "nothing short of a miracle".
