Will Bill Clinton be ‘First Man’ if Hillary wins the US presidential election?

IF HILLARY Clinton is elected President there will actually be two President Clintons in the White House.

Bill Clinton has joked about being called the 'First Man' or even 'First Dude' but what will the former main man be called on formal occasions?

If Hillary wins the Presidential race, it will be the first time the new leader is a spouse of a former President, but there have been a few times Presidents have shared a last name.

When this happens, typically people refer to the former President by a nickname or by their full name.

But it may not be so simple for Bill Clinton if he becomes America’s first 'first gentleman' since he’s also a former president.

So what will people call Bill Clinton?

Hillary Clinton has addressed this baffling issue several times while on the campaign trail.

"I think part of what we’ll have to figure out is what do you call the male spouse of a female president," she said.

“Now, it's a little bit more complicated with him because people still call former presidents Mr President. So I have to really work on this."

There are a few names that are accepted including First Gentleman, President Bill Clinton, Former President Clinton, The President's Husband and even 42 (the number president he was).

But most recently, it seems Hillary  has settled on calling Bill the 'first gentleman.'

“I’ve already told my husband that if I’m so fortunate enough to be president and he will be the first gentleman, I expect him to go to work to make sure we get those jobs growing and incomes rising,” she said at a campaign event.

So will Bill move back to his old bedroom at the White house?

Bed-hopping Bill Clinton has said he was looking forward to moving back to the White House if Hillary wins the presidency in 2016 - but only if his wife decides to ask him.

The former Commander-in-Chief joked he would still need an invite before relocating to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue if Hillary's campaign is successful.

Talking to David Letterman he said he would move back to the White House in the event of his wife winning the presidency - so long as she asks him

"If she wins the election, the chances are 100 per cent I'll move back ... if I'm asked."
Obviously a return to the White House will also be a return to the place where he infamously had a fling with intern Monica Lewinsky.
