A MILLIONAIRE businessman won a gagging order to stop details of a probe into his financial affairs being revealed.
The tycoon had been interviewed under caution by cops following a raid on his firm.
He hired a QC and paid around £80,000 to block publication of the details, saying it would breach his human right to privacy. However, the man’s identity has swept the internet.
Critics called it another example of the super-rich muzzling the Press.
The man, known only by the fake initials ERY, went to police voluntarily three weeks ago. He was told he was not under arrest, could leave at any time and that his attendance would be kept confidential.
Fearing a public relations disaster he hired David Sherborne QC to protect his identity.
Mr Sherborne, who has represented Hugh Grant and Kate Moss, claimed ERY’s young child may be damaged by bad publicity.

The temporary order was extended by Mr Justice Nicol at London’s High Court on Friday.
