Police arrest woman in boozy 3am brawl following unofficial aftershow Mobo music awards bash
Witness describes 'chaos' as fight kicked off outside club
MOBO revellers brawled in the street after partying at an unofficial aftershow bash following the awards.
A female clubber aged 24 was arrested by cops as violence erupted outside a club in the early hours.
One witness told how the fight kicked off at Distrikt in Glasgow’s Merchant City after rapper Wretch 32 hosted an unofficial bash billed as a "Mobo afterparty".
They said: “It was chaos. Everyone was piling out of the clubs at 3am when the atmosphere suddenly changed.
“Some guys started arguing and it soon turned physical. One of the guys involved ran away from the club and as police tried to grab him he fell in front of a parked car.”
Video footage shows one man being led off while another is told not to get involved. Another scrap breaks out and a woman is arrested despite her protests.
Police Scotland said: “Around 3.05am on Saturday, officers were called to a report of a disturbance. A 24-year-old woman was arrested and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
A Mobo Awards spokesperson said: “The official party at Club 29 was a complete success. The other event was unrelated, unofficial and unconnected to the awards.”
Comeback star Craig David was crowned Best Male at Friday night’s SSE Hydro show.
