WEE PROBLEM

I’m an American tourist in the UK – I’m disgusted at ‘iconic’ British landmark… it has no toilets and STINKS of urine

DISGUSTED tourists have claimed this British landmark is "a real tragedy" and warned others not to go.

Mount Snowdon, or Yr Wyddfa, in Wales, attracts around half a million visitors each year - but some climbers were less than impressed.

Furious tourists took to TripAdvisor to share their horror stories with one of the main issues being the lack of toilets.

One American visitor, who travelled all the way from New York, : "There are no lavatories for all those who climb up and trek back.

"People seem to relieve themselves out in the open giving a whiff of urine smell everywhere in this hillside."

Others voiced the same complaint and someone else posted: "Every rock you go behind this smells of wee or has human excrement behind it.

"Walked behind a building at the top to find some poor woman taking a dump.

"Lots of visitors here so it’s building up into a veritable sewage fest."

And this disappointed tourist was not the only one who claimed to have caught fellow explorers using the landscape as a toilet.

"No toilets, so everyone seems to be using the bushes. Not hygienic," agreed a third.

"Lots of rubbish piled up and allowed to blow across the country.

"A real tragedy."

Another horrified climber commented: "At the top we were greeted by the smell of sewage and literally hundred of people milling around.

"They had built a visitors center since I had last visited. It was disgusting.

"The toilets were a disgrace. It reminded me of facilities in third world countries but probably even worse as the smell was overpowering."

Another climber believed the mountain should be re-named, they said: "Poo-down should be the name. Can’t believe how many people were crouching down having a poo on the way up.

"Most off-putting, can’t they go before they climb?"

However, not everyone was left with a bad smell in their noses and many praised the attraction.

"What an amazing place to visit. Stunning views at the end of a testing walk but it’s definitely worth it," wrote one impressed visitor.
