THIS STOMACH-CHURNING footage shows a sink filling with urine-coloured water after a city's supply was interrupted.

Homeowners in Coventry, West Mids, were subjected to the sickening sight yesterday morning.

A burst pipe in the city prompted the suspension, but when repairs were concluded the water took on a very unappealing hue.

A spokesperson for Severn Trent explained: “As we’ve moved water around in a different way to normal, when your water supply is restored it may be discoloured or aerated.

“Although unappealing, we have no reason to believe there is any risk to your health, however we understand that whilst the supply is discoloured you may choose not to drink the water.”

The provider issued instructions on how to overcome the discolouration, urging residents to leave a tap running for 20 minutes at a time.

But one resident - Berkeley Mather - who filmed his flow - said that he had ran his taps for 40 minutes and the problem persisted.

Severn Trent advised that if Mr Mather or any other resident is still seeing discoloured water after running the tap for 20 minutes twice then they should call the water company on 0800 783 4444.
