Man who ‘murdered his girlfriend’ died in head-on crash with her ‘body in the back of van’
A BRIT died in a campervan crash with the body of his girlfriend in the back - and police believe he murdered her, reports claim.
Caspar Veres, 28, was killed in the horror Spanish smash where his camper collided head-on with a lorry, an inquest has found.
His French girlfriend Delphine Cochet, 28, was also found dead in the wreck but detectives believe she had been beaten to death several hours earlier.
In the weeks that followed the pair's shocking deaths, it was revealed that Veres - who had a history of mental instability - may have been pushed over the edge by the pressures of the Covid crisis.
Veres had to be cut from the twisted metal on a motorway near in Los Barrios, near Gibraltar, on September 25, 2020.
Today's inquest heard how it had been reported that for miles and miles leading up to the smash the 28-year-old had driven on the wrong side of the road.

reported the inquest had been delayed for more than two years because officials couldn't get their hands on translated documents from the Spanish authorities.
Coroner Sarah Clarke said this remained an issue and she had not seen any further information.
She explained that Veres' body was repatriated to Kent at his family's request, and his cause of death had been established.
Ms Clarke said Veres had died from polytraumatism – a medical term for multiple severe injuries.

She told the inquest at County Hall in Maidstone: "I am left with no choice but to record a narrative conclusion, that Mr Veres had been involved in a road traffic collision and died."
The pair's deaths shocked the nation after police revealed they thought Veres had battered Delphine, before committing suicide.
A police source said: “It does appear at this stage that the driver deliberately crashed his vehicle when his wife was already dead inside.”
