Serial sex monster who raped girl in old mine shaft shows NO REMORSE as he is jailed for abusing two more teens

Caged beast locked up for another 16 years after string of violent attacks

A SERIAL sex beast was today jailed for 16 years for raping two teenagers after he was nailed in a cold case review.

Anthony Pitt, 59, attacked the girls aged 15 and 17 nearly 30 years ago but was only charged thanks to DNA sampling.

At the time, he was already in prison serving 17 years for luring a third schoolgirl into a disused mine and raping her in 1998.

Sentencing him in Melbourne, Australia, today, Judge Mark Dean said: “You have exhibited no remorse whatsoever for your offending.

“Each incident was opportunistic, brazen and accompanied by serious violence."

The court heard Pitt was on bail for obscene exposure when he attacked his first victim in Mildura in 1987.

He raped the second teen after grabbing her off the street and dragging her into bushes in Frankston in 1988.

Both cases were unsolved until Pitt's DNA was linked to clothing samples from the victims in a cold case review in 2013.

By that time he was in jail for luring a 16-year-old girl into an old Ballarat mineshaft and repeatedly raping her over 19 hours in 1998.

Cops found the girl handcuffed and gagged after crawling through 70 metres of tunnels.

Pitt was also jailed for locking another teenage girl in the boot of his car - and for having sex with a child under 16 who was babysitting his kids.

Judge Dean said Pitt would not be eligible for parole for at least 13 years. “It’s not possible to be certain that ageing will reduce the risk of your offending until you are so frail that it becomes impossible,” he said.
