VIDEOS of women being brutally gang-raped are being sold in parts of India for as little as 12p.
An investigation by Al Jazeera found that sickening clips depicting rape and the sexual abuse of children are being bought in Uttar Pradesh and transmitted to customer’s phones in seconds.

The films, known locally as “rape videos”, cost between 20 and 200 rupees – the equivalent of 12p and £2.49.
The videos are filmed by rapists who blackmail victims with the footage to discourage them from reporting the attack to police.
They are then sold to shopkeepers or stolen from phones in repair shops for distribution.
One video allegedly shows a woman begging her rapist to stop, saying she would kill herself. Another begged them to stop filming the attack, whilst a different clip appeared to show a child being sexually abused.
One man who admitted to buying the sickening footage, which he referred to as porn, told he watches the videos to give him “peace of mind”.
MP for Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, western India, said: "In my constituency, I have heard about such videos being sold but police have taken no concrete action to stop this social malice. This proves how insensitive this government is towards the safety of women and their dignity.
"In states like Uttar Pradesh, there is no supremacy of rule and order. Police act at the orders of politicians; even local politicians have an influence on police forces."

But local authorities denied knowing anything about the clips, saying they didn’t know what a “rape video” was.
Local police inspector A K Shahi said: "Rape video ... ye kya hota hai (Rape video, what is this)?" when questioned over the clips.
However, he said he would take action if provided with evidence of the videos.
Crimes against women in India continue to rise, with over 34,000 cases of rape reported in the country last year alone.
