Former agency boss James Kallstrom also calls Democrat nominee 'a pathological liar' as email row heats up
A FORMER FBI chief has branded the Clintons a “crime family” and placed them in the same category as notorious mobsters like the Gambinos.
Speaking in a radio interview last week, former New York FBI chief James Kallstrom echoed the kind of language used by Donald Trump to describe the woman the Republican has dubbed “Crooked Hillary”.
Kallstrom said: “The Clintons, that’s a crime family.
“It’s like organised crime, basically. The Clinton Foundation is a cesspool.”
He described the Clintons as dishonest, greedy and scheming, during the interview with supermarket billionaire John Catsimatidis on AM970.
“It’s just outrageous how Hillary Clinton sold her office for money,” said Kallstrom, who has long been a critic of the Clintons, as well as President Obama.
“And she’s a pathological liar, and she’s always been a liar.
“And God forbid if we put someone like that in the White House.”
As the US presidential election looms, the Democrat candidate has been hit by a fresh blow in the scandal over her emails.
This week, the FBI announced publicly that it was launching a renewed probe into her alleged use of a private email server to send classified information.
Donald Trump has relentlessly used the issue as a weapon to attack his opponent over the last few days.
He warned supporters a Clinton victory “would mire our government and our country in a constitutional crisis that we cannot afford”.
And he predicted “a criminal trial for a sitting president,” slamming his rival for trying to blame others for the 20-month-long scandal.
The tactics seem to be working, with Clinton’s lead in the polls – which stood at seven points just two weeks ago – dramatically slashed.
In fact, the latest poll by ABC News/Washington Post showed the Republican leading his rival for the first time since May in an incredible turnaround.
