WHAT THE CLUCK

I ordered a £37 KFC bucket on Deliveroo but TWENTY SEVEN pieces of chicken were missing… their response left me raging

A DAD ordered a £36 KFC bucket on Deliveroo for his family but 27 pieces of chicken were missing when it arrived.

The £36.99 Matchday Party Bucket was meant to contain 30 pieces of chicken - a 14-piece party bucket along with 8 mini fillets and 8 hot wings - and a large portion of popcorn chicken.

It was also meant to come with six portions of fries, a large tub of coleslaw, a large serving of gravy, and a 1.5-litre bottle of Pepsi.

What turned up on the doorstep - after being ordered on Deliveroo - however, was a pitiful sight, just three bits of chicken, and a couple of ";burnt bits" in a bucket.

And a tiny bottle of Tropicana OJ.

Fuming dad-of-two Steve Hunt, from Norwich, had ordered the treat after landing a new job as a wellbeing coordinator, but when it was delivered he could only look on in horror.

Speaking this week, the 48-year-old said that despite contacting KFC and Deliveroo, he was told that the festive order had "been fulfilled" and that he wasn’t due a refund or a new order.

He said: “I had just got a new job and we were celebrating with a KFC.

“Me, my wife and the boys - Myro, 15, and Sonny, 12 - were starving and our mouths were watering at the prospect of a delivery from the Colonel.

“When it arrived, my wife Syreeta shouted from the kitchen asking why I had ordered just for myself.

“I went through and looked at the bucket - which has three bits of chicken in it and a couple of burnt scraps.

“I went to open the bag and all that was there was a tiny bottle of orange juice, which we hadn’t even ordered.”

He added: “Where were the other 27 bits of chicken, the popcorn chicken, the fries, the gravy, the coleslaw, the Pepsi?”

Despite repeatedly calling Deliveroo and KFC he was told the order had been "delivered and accepted" and that there was no refund due.

The family decided to snub KFC and ordered a McDonald’s instead - having to fork out another £30.

Steve added: “Colonel Sanders has really let us down - this has got to be the worst culinary miscarriage of justice of all time.”

A spokesman for Deliveroo apologised to Steve and his family, giving them a full refund as well as £50 in credit.

The spokesman said: “We're sorry to hear that Mr Hunt didn't have a great experience with his order. “We've now refunded Mr Hunt and apologise for the disappointment - and would like to wish him all the best in his new job."
