An investigation was launched by the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

A spokesman confirmed the force had been called to investigate a sudden death, but said there were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

Pte Reid, 19, grew up in Stevenston, in Ayrshire, Scotland, before he moved to Carlisle, Cumbria, with his family.

Candles, flowers and messages of love and support for the soldier's family have been left outside his dormitory at the barracks.

His brother, Senna Reid, posted on social media: "R.I.P Lenny Reid. You were the best brother anyone could ask for and a fine soldier.

"Sorry your life on this earth was so short, but i love you and will never stop loving you."A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence said it was a "tragic case" of a "sudden death".

He added that any investigation was being led by police.

Pte Reid died on Saturday, October 22.
