Apple-obsessed Ukrainian man Olexander Turin changes his NAME to ‘iPhone 7’ in desperate bid to win a new handset

AN APPLE-BONKERS man has officially changed his name to iPhone 7 after an electronics store offered the latest Apple product to the first five people to do so.

The 20-year old Ukrainian iPhone Sim (Seven) got the coveted prize Friday. He said he might change it back to his original name, Olexander Turin, when he has children.

The price of phone starts at £700 in Ukraine, while the name changes costs the equivalent of £1.60.

Sim's friends and family were shocked at first but eventually supported the idea.

His sister, Tetyana Panina, said: "It was difficult to accept that and hard to believe it's true." She added: "Each person in this world is looking for a way to express himself. Why not to do that in this way?"

It's not the first time the sought-after handset has brought out the crazy in someone.

A Chinese woman came up with a unique solution to her house buying problem when she asked each of her 20 boyfriends to purchase her an iPhone 7 – which she traded in to buy her first home.

Chinese social media has been buzzing with the story of the the woman dubbed ‘Xiaoli’ with many people praising her ingenuity.

Xiaoli, which is not her real name, lives in the city of Shenzhen in southern China and after becoming concerned about China’s house rising prices took matters into her own hands.

She asked each of her 20 fellas to buy her the brand new iPhone 7 which was only launched last month.

After receiving all of the hi-tech handsets she went to a mobile phone recycling site called Hui Shou Bao where she racked up £700 for each phone and amassed a fortune of £14,000 within seconds.
