Four children taken to hospital and woman ‘seriously injured’ after horror car crash

FOUR children and a woman were rushed to hospital after a horror crash involving a Land Rover and a van.

The female driver, 28, was "seriously injured" in the smash in Middlewich, Cheshire.

An air ambulance landed at the site of the crash involving a Transit van towing a trailer on the A533 on Wednesdy.

Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to remove the woman but her injuries were "not thought to be life threatening", police said.

The children were taken to hospital as a precaution following the 2pm smash.

Horrific pictures show the crushed black Land Rover Discovery wedged in a hedge.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Constabulary said: "The incident involved two vehicles, a black Land Rover discovery and a transit van which was towing a trailer.

"The driver of the discovery, a 28-year-old woman, was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries - they are not believed to be life threatening."
