The Queen backs Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie over Prince Charles’ plans to sideline the work-shy pair

THE Queen has ignored Prince Charles’ wishes to ‘sideline’ her much maligned granddaughters – Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.

The Mail On Sunday reports that the Prince of Wales wants to streamline the monarchy, reducing the members who carry out royal duties.

The Queen reportedly favours the young girls having more royal duties

A senior member of the Queen’s court told the news outlet that this has led to clashes between Charles and his brother, the girls’ father, Prince Andrew.

But the source within Buckingham Palace reveals that her Majesty, now the world’s longest reigning monarch, has sided with Beatrice and Eugenie – as she enjoys a strong relationship with all her grandchildren.

The source said: “The Queen adores the girls and is keen for them to have some kind of a role.

“Charles’s vision for a streamlined family is all very well, but how can the Royal Family do everything it currently does with just five players?”

While the sisters, who are often accused of being work-shy, are not on the official royal roster – they do attend some engagements, much to ire of the future King.

Earlier this week, it was revealed Andrew recently petitioned the Queen to turn his daughters into full-time ­pampered princesses.

Apparently concerned their spot in the royal limelight has been overshadowed by William, Kate and Harry, the Duke of York suggested his girls stop carving out independent careers and instead become full-time ­royals.

However, his 90-year-old mother reportedly refused the extraordinary request.

But according to the Mail on Sunday’s report it seems the Queen isn’t quite ready to cut the princesses off completely.
