I was chopping logs for a festive fire when I saw Jesus’ face – I couldn’t burn it

A DAD was chopping a log when he saw the splitting image of Jesus.

Phil Buckley was confronted with the Messiah’s distinctive profile as he prepared a festive fire.

It is the image of Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer statue.

Stunned Phil, 44, said: “I chopped through one piece and thought, ‘Oh my God, that looks just like Jesus’!”

The HR worker then decided to spare the carved deity from his wood burner in Brize Norton, Oxfordshire.

He added: “I couldn’t bring myself to burn it — especially not over Christmas.
