Man who fought off London Bridge killer Usman Khan with ceremonial pike given bravery gong
A PORTER who fought off London Bridge killer Usman Khan with a ceremonial pike has been given a bravery award.
Lukasz Koczocik, 41, took on the terrorist after he stabbed a man and woman to death at Fishmongers’ Hall in 2019.
He snatched the pike from the wall and confronted Khan, 28, who slashed at and seriously wounded the head porter.
Despite his injuries, Lukasz kept fighting until others joined in — forcing Khan out onto the bridge in central London where he was shot dead by cops.
His heroics earned him The Royal Humane Society’s Stanhope Gold Medal — its top award.
Announcing the award Andrew Chapman, Secretary of the society said: “Lukasz was a true hero.

“Very few people would have the courage to do what he did.
“He was seriously injured by the attacker but refused to give up and as a result other lives were almost certainly saved.”
