My 14-year-old son was kicked out of class for his haircut – it made him more confident now he’s devastated… I’m furious
A MUM is furious after her son was kicked out of class because of his haircut.
Kirsty Sabin has slammed the 14-year-old's school for its "outdated policies" after he was told to go into isolation for the trim.
She said her teenager went to the barbers and asked for the short cut with a line shaved on the side.
According to Kirsty, the new look boosted her son's confidence.
However, when he went into Bulwell Academy, in Nottingham, the next day he was disciplined for it.
Kirsty, 37, told : "My son refused to go into isolation out of principle.

"He did nothing wrong and I supported him in doing that."
Kirsty claims the school then suspended her son - who is in year 10 - and said he couldn't return until the line had grew out.
The boy, who is preparing to sit his GCSEs, has ADHD and was affected by the situation.
Kirsty added: "I feel like they have failed my son. He is a confident boy but they did not respect that."
A spokesperson for Bulwell Academy said: “Our uniform policy has been in place for a number of years and makes clear that shaved patterns and unnatural hair colouring are not allowed, and we work hard to ensure that this is made clear to our pupils and their families.
"We continue to work collaboratively with pupils and their parents so that that all pupils are supported to reach their full potential.”
Kirsty said she stands by her son's decision not to go into isolation and is waiting for an apology from the school.
