THESE incredible pictures reveal the carnage caused by Mike Pence's plane when it skidded off an airport runway in New York last night.
The Republican vice-presidential candidate was lucky to walk away from the incident unharmed after it tore through the runway tarmac.
Photographs taken at the scene show parts of the plane were left touching the ground after landing gear failed to support the jet.
Behind it lay a trail of devastation - seen by a line of torn up tarmac stretching out from behind one of the plane's engines.
The incident occurred just before 8pm last night while the jet was landing at LaGuardia airport in New York.

Pence, Donald Trump's running mate, was filmed emerging from the aircraft unscathed.
Live TV footage showed him standing in the rain near the plane among emergency vehicles, talking to police and other officials after the incident.
He tweeted: "So thankful everyone on our plane is safe. Grateful for our first responders & the concern & prayers of so many. Back on the trail tomorrow!"
The pilot reportedly slammed on the brakes and passengers on the aircraft could smell burning rubber.
The plane, which had around 30 people on board, had been delayed taking off from Fort Dodge, Iowa because bad weather was expected en route.
Pence, the governor of Indiana, had been at a campaign event in the state.
Republican presidential nominee Trump called Pence to check on him after the incident.
"Mr Trump did reach out to Gov Pence. He's glad that everyone on board is safe," Trump spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said.
