Chilling Al-Qaeda propaganda footage shows jihadis blasting sniper rifles and lobbing mortars in battles across Yemen

AL-QAEDA has released a chilling new propaganda video showing its fighters battling with sniper rifles and mortars through mountainous desert terrain.

The jihadis are seen firing at vehicles and popping off shots with assault rifles in the footage, believed to have been filmed in Yemen.

Produced by al-Malahem, the group's propaganda group, snipers are also seen trading shots across huge swathes of desert.

It also features fighters eating dinner - including chocolates - and shows gory scenes of wounded jihadis.

It finally ends with the text "O Aqsa, We Are Coming". This is an official sign-off for Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Penninsula (AQAP), reported.

While ISIS videos - often showing child executioners - are extremely barbaric, Al-Qaeda remains focused on portrayed jihadis, rather than gore.

The group has lost much of its pulling power to ISIS in recent years, but Yemen and Somalia remain strongholds for its AQAP branch.
