THIS is the shocking moment a feuding family armed with pitchforks began brawling outside a outside funeral parlour – as mourners were paying their respects.

The clip shows a gang – believed to be from one side of the family - dressed in black and hurling glass bottles across the road at other relatives.

Members of the group look to be holding pitchforks, garden spades and baseball bats as the fight breaks out.

Witnesses say that nearby businesses were forced to lock their doors and pull down shutters as the drama unfolded on Tuesday afternoon.

One mourner, who was inside Greater Manchester Funeral Service Ltd at the time, said that people had been paying their respects to an elderly man when three men entered.

They told the : “It was a dad and two sons, one of them dropped a metal bar from inside their jacket on the floor.”

It’s understood there was an argument inside the funeral parlour, before the men were asked to leave.

They then headed back across the road to a white van, which had pulled up outside St Dunstan’s RC Church earlier that morning.

Moments later, the men, along with several women – all dressed in black – are alleged to have got out carrying pitchforks, garden spades and baseball bats.

One woman can be seen on the video pulling bottles from a white carrier bag, throwing them across the street as a woman passes the funeral parlour with a pram and small child.

Shouting can also be heard, yet it’s not clear exactly what was being said.

One resident described it as ‘like World War Three’, with passing cars narrowly avoiding being hit by the flying bottles.

The group are said to have got back in the van and left the scene after police were called.

Police confirmed they were at around 2pm to reports of violent disorder.

A spokesman said: “An unknown number of people pulled up outside a church on Moston Lane and later approached another group of people across the road, carrying weapons and glass bottles.

“An altercation broke out between them and police were called.

“The first group had left the scene in the van before officers arrived.

“No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.”

There were not believed to have been any serious injuries and North West Ambulance Service confirmed they were not called to the scene.

Earlier this month police were hunting for three young boys accused of launching a horrific sex attack on an 11-year-old girl during a traveller funeral in west London.
