Terrifying moment Mercedes smashes into car performing a U-turn on dual carriageway

THIS is the horrifying moment a driver smashed into another car performing a U-turn on a dual carriageway.

The terrifying incident was caught on a Mercedes' dash cam as it sped down the A1, near Loughbrickland, Co. Down, on Monday.

The German motor can be seen hurtling down the relatively quiet road with no sign of the trouble up ahead.

But as the car approaches a junction, a silver mini-van suddenly drops its speed.

The car then swings out into the right hand lane, straight into the path of the oncoming Merc.

With no way to avoid a collision the Mercedes smashes into the other car sending glass and debris flying into the air.

The German motor abruptly halts in the middle of the road after the crash, in which it is unknown if anyone was injured.

The frightening clip was posted to YouTube two days ago drawing many concerned comments.

One user commented: "Ouch... someone needs their driving license revoked."
