NOT TICKLED PINK

We hate our neighbour’s pink door with ‘over the top’ Christmas decorations – it makes our street a laughing stock

RESIDENTS who hate their neighbour's pink door and its "over the top" Christmas decorations say it has turned their street into a laughing stock.

Hannah Cox, 30, unveiled her bright pink Christmas Nutcracker creation at her home in Minehead, Somerset, for the festive period.

But her festive spirit has not impressed everyone with some residents claiming it lowers the tone of the estate.

One angry neighbour, who didn’t want to be named, said: “I understand that people want to celebrate Christmas but this is totally over the top.

“Why can’t people just put up a simple wreath on their door - that would be more in keeping with the neighbourhood.”

While another disgruntled neighbour added: “This latest creation is just making the neighbourhood a laughing stock.”

Hannah, who changes her door decorations with the seasons, spent £685 decorating her front door for Christmas this year.

The Nutcracker cost £250, while the wreath and festive arch cost £435 to put together and took five hours to complete.

Despite her neighbours' concerns, Hannah says the giant pink Nutcracker soldier and festive arch is just a way of showcasing her artificial flower business.

And she insists the show will go on despite what some of her neighbours think.

She said: “All I’m doing is trying to brighten the estate up and at the same time advertising my business.

“It’s no different to a painter and decorator having a sign outside his home - although I think that this is a bit more tasteful.”

Her love of all things crafting and decorating saw her launch her own artificial flower business, Artificial Hannah, during June 2020.

Around the same time, she started decorating her front door to show the change in seasons.
