The broadcaster, who has previously worked at the BBC and ITN, is seen travelling up to the lights at a junction while the light is red, before looking like he continues to turn left despite the red light.

From the footage it looks like pedestrians are crossing as he continues to cycle.

It is not known exactly where in London he was cycling, but he has been known to previously use Boris bikes to get around the city.

The newsreader also presents his own television show, Murnaghan, which airs on Sky News on Sunday mornings.

He has taken part in various cycling challenges before, including the tough Lands end to John O'Groats route in 2011.

He was seen reportedly cycling through the red light on Monday, October 24.

It is a traffic offence for a cyclist to go through a red light, as it would be for a car driver.
