NAZI VANDALS

Satanic heavy metal bands daubed pigs blood SWASTIKAS on club wall in row over pay

The blood was meant to be used by some of the acts as part of their performances

A MUSIC venue owner was left with a four-figure sum cleaning bill after a Nazi swastika was daubed on a dressing room wall in pigs blood during a satanic metal music festival.

The Classic Grand in Glasgow hosted the two-day Caledonian Darkness festival over the weekend but on Saturday, owner Gary Broadhurst, discovered one of the dressing rooms had been trashed.

The pig blood was meant to be used by some of the bands as part of their performances.

However Gary believes it was instead used to vandalise the dressing room.

He has also claimed the festival, which was organised by Orcular Phantasm, had not brought in enough money to pay some of the bands, who had flown in from across Europe, .

He said: "It soon became apparent that the agreed fees were not going to be available to the bands, or venue.

";When certain acts discovered they were not going to be paid by the promoter, some took it upon themselves to challenge them/refuse to play etc.

"Severe damage was then caused to the venue which has resulted in a four-figure repair bill.

"To ensure everyone's safety, the promoter decided to cut short the event, a decision which The Classic Grand agreed with."

The incident was not reported to the police which Gary says he regrets as he defines it as a 'hate crime' but said he was giving people the benefit of the doubt.

Promoters, Oracular Phantasm have denied the vandalism was caused by one of the bands booked for the festival and claim an attendee could be responsible for the damage.

Glasgow Live understands promoters Oracular Phantasm have denied the vandalism was caused by one of the bands booked for the festival, and claim a member of the public could be responsible for the damage.

A spokesman for promoters Ophidium Arcanum told the Evening Times yesterday: “We have yet to find out who is responsible but they will be dealt with accordingly when we do.”

Glasgow Live contacted Oracular Phantasm for a comment, but have not yet received a reply.
