A GANG has been caught aiming fireworks at cyclists, with the dangerous sparks narrowly missing each other.
The group can be heard yelling as they run around parked cars, pointing the exploding fireworks at each other and at a cyclist passing through.
The terrifying footage was caught over the weekend, sparking warnings that more needed to be done to counteract dangerous late night escapades.
Shulen Stern from Stamford Hill Shomrim , telling the Sun Online: "Every year there's incidents of youths directing fireworks at innocent pedestrians, and this year is no exception.
"It is extremely dangerous."
The incident, which was recorded at 9.50pm on October 22, was immediately reported to police.
Shulen said: " More needs to be done by Police and by the Courts, to arrest, prosecute and punish, both the ones who direct the fireworks, endangering innocent victims, and also shops that sell fireworks to underage youths."
A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to Springfield in Hackney to reports of antisocial behaviour on Saturday, 22 October at approximately 21:50hrs
"Members of public witnessed a group throwing fireworks at each other.
"Police attended but the group had left.
"There have been no arrests."
London Fire Brigade (LFB) group manager for community safety Mark Hazelton said: "Using fireworks in this way is incredibly dangerous and can cause serious injury or worse. People should never throw fireworks and should never put them in their pockets.
"It is far safer to go to organised displays rather than lighting fireworks yourself. If you do choose to host your own display, it is vital to follow the Firework Safety Code."
London Ambulance has been approached for comment.
Community members have now slammed the incident, saying the people involved did not realise how dangerous their actions were.
One person, Clare, wrote on Twitter: "I've had fireworks fired at me across LCR when with my young child. Scared me stiff."
Another said: "where are the parents is the main question. Do they know or care what their offspring are up to?"
A third said: "These people r idiots. They have no idea that fireworks burn at over 1800°.. they r pathetic idiots who have no place in society."
