Murder probe launched after man left in a pool of his own blood after being shot FIVE times
The killing occurred during a night of violence across the north western city

A MURDER probe has been launched following an "assassination" in a Merseyside street.
A 30-year-old man was shot five times in the head, thigh and buttock with a pistol.
Witnesses said they found the victim in a pool of blood following the "targetted" attack in the Aigburth area of Liverpool.
The murder occurred during a night of violence across the north western city which also saw shots fired in Kirkdale and Kirby.
None of the three incidents are believed to be linked.
Neighbours said they heard gunshots ringing out around 10.20pm on Monday night.
One woman, who was among a group who tried to save the stricken victim, said: “I thought it was fireworks, you always hear them so I left it a little while.
"Then I looked out and saw him in a pool of blood.
“I heard five gun shots. Two shots, then a gap of about 10 seconds, and three shots.
“I took blankets and gloves over and he was just lying in a pool of blood. He had definitely been shot in the bottom of the back.”

A second neighbour added: “There were three very quick shots, then a gap and two more. It sounded like a pistol.
"I just feel sorry for the whoever this has happened to.”
The shooting is thought to have been carried out by two or three men who were seen fleeing on foot.
Merseyside Police are set to increase patrols in the Croxteth area to reassure the community.
Assistant Chief Constable Nikki Holland said: “The male was from Croxteth and we believe this was a targeted attack on him, so a number of enquiries may be in Croxteth.
“We are also doing forensics searches in the area around the shooting, looking for evidence.
"There will be officers there throughout the day involved in trying to find evidence and, in addition, local officers who know the community will be there to provide reassurance to members of the public.
“A number of off-duty doctors who had got off a train nearby tried to save the life of the man. The police and his family are grateful for their efforts.”
