Girlfriend, 25, repeatedly throttled, punched and kicked by thug partner after she turned him down for sex
Sarah Tasker, 25, suffered a fractured cheek bone during the "despicable" three-hour assault at the hands of ex-boyfriend Jamie Bamforth
A BRAVE young woman has told how she was throttled, punched and kicked by her thug partner after she turned him down for sex.
Sarah Tasker, 25, suffered a fractured cheek bone during the "despicable" three-hour assault at the hands of ex-boyfriend Jamie Bamforth.
As the 27-year-old begins a 32-month prison sentence, Sarah has chosen to speak out about her ordeal in the hope of inspiring others to report domestic abuse.
Sarah's ordeal began when Bamforth returned to their home in Hull, East Yorks., in the early hours of July 16.
He shouted at Sarah, asking if she wanted sex, and accused her of being unfaithful when she refused.
The 25-year-old denied cheating on him and the vile attacker launched the lengthy assault on his partner.
Speaking after the hearing, Sarah said she wanted to tell her story to warn anyone who gets involved with Bamforth in the future.
She said: "I just want to make sure any of his future girlfriends don't have to go through what I went through.
"I'm a different person now. My mental state and my emotional state are going to take a long time to heal but I used to be secretive and not talk to anyone but that's changing now.
"To my friends and family I'm getting back to how I was before I met Jamie."

Prosecuting, Stephen Welch told Hull Crown Court Bamforth began his assault by punching her repeatedly and throwing a barefooted "hard kick" to her face before he "squeezed her throat" with his hands.
Welch said Bamforth then broke a mirror over his head and drew a blade of glass across his wrist, saying he was "going to cut himself".
During the attack, Sarah had been looking for her mobile phone to call for help but realised Bamforth had taken it.
Her violent ex had texted her employer to say she would not be at work the next day.
Despite the ferociousness of the assault, Sarah says she initially thought about staying with Bamforth and did not plan to tell police.
She said: "The day after it happened, I was still thinking about going back.
"I went into work, because otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get out of the flat if I didn't go to work and my sister called and I just broke down on the phone.
"My mum dragged me to the hospital and she called the police for me."
While this was the first time Bamforth had attacked Sarah in such a way, looking back she says it was obvious he had become more abusive.
She said: "I don't understand why I let it go on so long. There were so many times I could have left and I didn't.
"I just feel so stupid now and I don't want it to happen to anybody else."
Bamforth admitted grievous bodily harm and wept in the dock when he was sentenced - while Sarah broke down in tears when she heard he had been jailed.
She said: "I thought he would get off. Jamie can be quite shy and I was worried people wouldn't believe me because he was so nice around other people.
"After everything I went through, it's over. I've closed the book on that part of my life."
Defending, Jayne Bryan said Bamforth was desperate to change his ways, had shown "genuine remorse" and wanted to start a family with Sarah.
But recorder David Dixon said the young woman "thought she was going to die".
Bamforth was sentenced to 32-months in prison and was given a five-year restraining order banning him from trying to contact Sarah other than through a solicitor.
