The youngster was left with horrific head wounds as mum Laura urged cops to track down the thug responsible.

The 30-year-old, from Glasgow, said: "I just can’t believe this has happened.

“You hear about stuff like this happening, but you never expect something like this to happen to your own child.

“I want the person responsible to see the damage they’ve caused so they never do something like this again.

“I just hope police find the person that’s done this. I want justice for Kraig.”

Rangers season ticket holder Kraig was on his way to the Celtic clash with his uncle Marc when their supporters bus broke down.

They were forced to walk past rival fans, who began shouting at the Rangers supporters.

One thug then chucked a bottle, which hit Kraig on the head and sent him crashing to the ground with blood gushing from his head.

The lad, who had never been to an Old Firm game before, had to be rushed to hospital where he was stitched up following the shocking attack.

Laura told : "He was walking by the Celtic fans and there was a bit of banter, and that was fine.

“But then someone threw a Budweiser and it hit him right on the head.

“I got a call to say what had happened, and I just started crying. I broke down.”

"It’s the first time I’ve ever let him go to an Old Firm game. It’s just a different world to other games.

“My boy was so excited to see it for the first time and he ends up missing it because of some thug.

“I’m obviously wary about him going to another one now. He’s still quite shaken up by it but he loves football so will still want to go to Rangers games.

“I don’t think he’s feeling the full effects of what happened.

“He’s happy just playing Playstation in his room, and even wants to go to school tomorrow. He’s been so brave.”

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said last night: “Around 1400 hours on Sunday, October 23, an 11-year-old boy sustained a head injury after being hit by a bottle whilst walking along Aitkenhead Road, Mount Florida.

“He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

“Details of the seriousness of any injury is not know at this time but it is not thought to be serious.

“Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.”

The horror incident comes a year after Rangers fan Kieran Duffy, ten, was bottled by a thug on his way to an Old Firm match at Hampden.
