Female officer in intensive care after being dragged under car in ‘deliberate hit-and-run’ which is being treated as ‘attempted murder’

A POLICE officer is fighting for her life after she was dragged under the wheels of a car in a "deliberate hit-and-run".
Two brave cops were left seriously injured following the shocking incident on Sunday in Knightswood, Glasgow, which is being treated as attempted murder.
A 30-year-old female officer and her 31-year-old male colleague were attempting to speak to the people inside the car before the vehicle deliberately reversed over them.
The policewoman is in intensive care while the other cop is also being treated in hospital.
A blue Nissan Qashqai similar to the one believed to have been used in the attack was found burnt out in the Scotstoun area of the city.
Police have yet to confirm if it is the same car, but forensic teams are examining it.
Brian Docherty, chairman of the Scottish Police Federation, said: "Our colleagues were simply doing their damnedest to keep the public safe and faced an unconscionable attack on their lives as a consequence.
"This is a despicable and cowardly act and there can be no doubt that those who drove a vehicle at police officers did so with the intention of taking their life."

The female officer is believed to have suffered "many" broken bones and remains in intensive care.
A spokesman said: "Around 11.15pm, two police officers were responding to a call in Banner Drive.
"In conducting their enquiries at the location, officers stopped a car to speak to the occupants when the car reversed and struck both officers, leaving them seriously injured.
"Emergency services responded to the incident and both officers were taken to hospital."
"The female officer, aged 30, suffered serious injuries and is currently in ICU. The other officer, aged 31 was also seriously injured. He remains in hospital."
A source told thethat the woman was dragged under the car before her colleague was able to pull her out.
The source added: "This is attempted murder on two police officers doing their job."
Detective Inspector Ian Hylands said: “Everything that can be done to locate the suspects is being done but I would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen the incident last night or who has any knowledge of the vehicle or the suspects to contact us.
"Two police officers, in responding to an incident to help protect the public, have been badly injured.
"Help us find those responsible."
