Shocking moment shop owner, 39, is shot dead after tackling armed robber

The watch salesman tried to fight the thief but was shot twice in the scuffle

THE horrific moment a watch salesman is shot dead during a scuffle with a robber has been caught in CCTV footage.

Nuno Antonio Torres, 39, had just passed a watch over to his would-be client when the customer pulled out a gun, threatening the business owner.

But the shop attendant is then seen to fight back, attempting to grab the pistol in the dramatic fight in the Brazilian store.

But as Torres tries to push the gun away, the robber manages to free himself, shooting the innocent shopkeeper twice.

The tragic fight was caught on CCTV footage, which showed the shooter had been accompanied by a female companion.

It has now been reported that the sale had initially been set up through social media.

The victim's brother was also shot once, although the exact moment was not caught on video.

The attacker then rushed outside to a car, taking watches and money in the heist.

The victim, from Portugal, had relocated to the north-eastern Brazilian city of Fortaleza five years ago. The man opened a small shop where he would sell watches with the help of his brother.

Police Colonel Gilvandro Oliveira confirmed that an investigation is ongoing although the attacker has not yet been identified.
