Checkpoints have been set up to find the prisoners who escaped in the bloody mutiny
A MASS prison break has seen more than 170 inmates escape and two people including a guard killed in Haiti.
More than 170 inmates, mostly barefoot, stormed out of the prison in Arcahaie which sits about 30 miles north of the country's capital of Port-au-Prince.
Justice Minister Camille Edouard Junior told Reuters that one guard was killed in the mutiny that saw 174 inmates escape.
He said: "Three prisoners were wounded, including one who died as a consequence of his wounds."
The prisoners were reportedly let out of their cells to bathe when they attacked, managing to steal an unknown number of weapons.
Bullet holes were spotted in some of the walls after the successful jail break.
