‘Baby killer’ Lucy Letby tells cops she ‘could not recall interrupting couple’ holding dying child

NURSE Lucy Letby told cops she could not recall interrupting a couple as they cuddled their dying baby in his last moments, a court heard yesterday.

It is claimed she asked whether she could take the baby away, despite him still being alive.

The father of Baby C told Manchester crown court a nurse he believed to be Letby, 32, entered the family room.

This followed a failed attempt to resuscitate their child.

Holding a basket, she allegedly said:

“You’ve said your goodbyes.

Letby, of Hereford, denies murdering seven babies — including Baby C — at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

She also denies the charge of attempting to murder ten more.

The trial continues.
