Footage shows motorcycle smash into side of car at traffic lights – but who is in the wrong?

A pizza delivery rider is lucky to be alive after his motorcycle slammed into the side of a car at high speed.

The jaw-dropping footage was captured in the centre of Melbourne, Australia, on a helmetcam and shows the driver of the black Toyota turn left into rider's path at a traffic light.

The motorcyclist is sent sprawling into the road and onlookers rush over to help him.

The driver then gets out and the pair argue over who was at fault.

"You just didn’t look, I was coming up you know," the biker says.

The driver admits: "I did see you were coming," but adds: ";I think you were driving a bit fast?"

An insurance company found the car driver to be at fault and ordered them to pay £4,360 in damages to the motorcycle, according to the rider who posted the video on Youtube.

Reactions from Youtube commenters were varied.

One viewer said: "As a biker I find you at fault bro, you were sounding your horn as if to expect the black SUV to stop and yield... then almost expecting to shout abuse because they got in the way."

But another defended the rider, saying: "Typical response from someone who doesn't look before manoeuvring - 'You were going too fast' and 'You came out of nowhere'."

Captured in Yunnan, China, the frightening clip shows a grey saloon car trying to pass the enormous truck on a narrow mountain road.
