A WOMAN found dying inside a £1 million Buckinghamshire home has been pictured for the first time.

Medics battled in vain for nearly an hour to save the stricken woman, who was 30 years old.

But cops didn’t launch a murder probe for three days as they awaited the results of a post-mortem.

The luxury pad in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, is owned by car lease firm boss Harcharanjit Matharu, 58, and his 66-year-old wife Baldev.

The couple are believed to have two daughters.

A 58-year-old man was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of murder and released on bail.

Police would not say how the woman died, but did not rule out looking for anyone else.

Patrols in the upmarket neighbourhood were stepped up yesterday as forensic experts continued to search the house.

One neighbour said: “I didn’t know the people who lived there, but I heard a scream at around 5pm on Monday.

“I am very shocked, this is a lovely quiet neighbourhood.”

Another said: “You don’t often see police in this area, I was really surprised.”

Three years ago Gerrards Cross was third  in a nationwide postcode wealth table.

The Matharu family’s car firm is run from a £2million gated house in nearby Denham.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: “At around 5.50pm on Monday officers attended a property following a report that a woman in her thirties had died.

“A Home Office post mortem examination was carried out and, following this, the Force’s Major Crime Unit has  launched a murder investigation.”

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Simon Steel, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “We are appealing for anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward.”

Thames Valley Police have also published a tribute to "much-loved" Gurpreet on behalf of her sister, Jaspreet.

It said: "Gurpreet was a much loved daughter, sister and friend who was always kind and helpful. She will be dearly missed."
