'She even stole on Christmas Day'

Shameless carer caught stealing from OAP’s handbag more than SIXTY times after family set up spy camera is jailed for ten months

Donna White was filmed stealing £3,600 from frail 84-year-old's handbag and family fear mum will 'never trust again'

A FRAIL OAP’s thieving carer rifles the 84-year-old’s handbag — then coolly counts the cash.

Donna White, 48, was filmed doing the same 64 times after the great gran’s suspicious family put a spy camera in the kitchen.

The mum of two systematically robbed Diana Brammall despite the grateful OAP having paid for her to go on cruise holidays, a judge heard.

Her shocked victim said: “She even stole from me on Christmas Day.”

White, of Thurgoland, South Yorks, was sacked by Barnsley council.

She admitted thefts estimated to total at least £3,600 and sobbed as she was jailed for ten months at Sheffield crown court.

Diana, whose husband of 62 years is a retired butcher, said: "It made me feel ill.

"We had been so generous with her, which is why it hurt.

"I feel as though I have got a good hiding."

Mrs Brammall's son cashed a £400 cheque each week to pay for his mum's care.

The family felt "sick" as they watched "brazen" White steal from their mum.

Her son Stephen said: "The full extent of her actions will never be known.

"I think it will be very difficult for mum to trust anyone again."
