Mystery thieves stole conifers from my front garden… but a twist just hours later left me stunned
A GREEN-fingered woman was left stunned when CCTV caught a group of three boys stealing conifers from her garden.
Even more shocking though, was the fact that the thieves came back to have an unexpected chat with her after the crime.
Charlotte, from Nottingham, was furious to find her freshly planted conifers stolen on Monday evening.
CCTV footage on her estate then revealed that the plants had been pinched by the three youngsters earlier that day while she was out shopping.
She told earlier today: "I am disappointed really because you try and make things nice. And then this happens."
The angry resident added that, though she had been given them as a gift and not had to pay, they were worth £40 or £50 each.

However, since giving the fuming interview, she had an unexpected visit from the three lads and their dad to apologise for their behaviour.
She said: "Their dad knocked on my door. I did not see the boys initially, they were busy planting the trees.
"The dad was shocked, he did not know anything about it.
"I thanked the boys for making the right choice and for being brave enough to come back and plant the trees."

Apparently, they had taken the plants to their grandad's and, when their dad found out, they were told to go round to apologise and repair the damage.
Charlotte added: "I am really chuffed. The trees just need some water and care and they will be all right.
"I think it is brilliant - it is just amazing. I am very happy with their apology and I hope that they learned their lesson."

She also said that the dad had given her permission to call the police if she sees them in her garden again.
The boys were also reportedly given a stern warning that they could go to prison if they tried anything like this heist again.
