Mother’s shock as toddler finds dead rotting SPIDERS inside Poundstretcher chocolate reindeer
Youngster screamed when she realised what was inside the treat
A MUM was horrified after her daughter bit into a chocolate reindeer treat only to find cobwebs and dead, rotting spiders.
Elena Demetriou had bought the £1 chocolate treat from Poundstretcher for her three-year-old daughter.
Elena's daughter screamed when she realised what was inside the hollow chocolate reindeer, has reported.
Elena said: "As we drove home she opened the wrapper and started to bite into the chocolate.
"After she did so she screamed and shouted ‘mummy there’s spider webs in my chocolate, I don’t want any more’, then handed it over to me."

Elena said she felt "disbelief and disgust" when she looked inside the snack.
Pondstretcher has apologised and said it is investigating how the spiders could have ended up in the treat.
Elena returned the chocolate reindeer to the store in Walkden, Salford, but then shared pictures on Facebook after being disappointed with the response of staff.
She said staff apologised and removed the reindeer from the shelves but didn't refund her or seem to take her complaint seriously.
Elena said: “After asking what exactly they where going to do about the situation they just handed me a phone number to the complaints department and told me I’d have to deal with it myself.
"Not that I was concerned about the £1 that I spent on the rotten chocolate, but they did not even offer me a refund.”
Responding to Elena's Facebook post a spokesman for Poundstretcher said: “We are so sorry to hear this has happened, we are fully investigating the matter with our manufacturer as mentioned in our phone call yesterday.
"Our customer service adviser will be in touch with you directly regarding this.
"We apologise and hope you and your little girl are okay.
"We’re committed to resolving this and making sure it does not happen again.”
The store has since added: “We are currently investigating this situation and discussing with our supplier how this might have occurred. However at this stage we believe this to be an isolated incident."
