Donald Trump REFUSES to say he will accept results of ‘rigged’ election at Las Vegas TV showdown
HE has said time and again the election is rigged and now Donald Trump has refused to say he will accept the result of the Presidential election if he loses.
The billionaire was being questioned on the TV debate on Wednesday night in Las Vegas about his vocal criticism he may not make it all the way to the White House due to a voting system which was against him.
After saying Hillary Clinton "shouldn't be allowed to run" he was asked by Fox News journalist Chris Wallace, who was chairing the event: "But sir, there is a tradition in this country, in fact one of the prides of this country, is that the peaceful transition of power, and no matter how hard fought a campaign is, that at the end of the campaign, the loser concedes to the winner."
Then directly addressing Trump he said: "Not saying you are necessarily going to be the loser or the winner, but the loser concedes to the winner and the country comes together in part for the good of the country.
"Are you saying you are not here for the good of the country?"
Trump responded: "What I am saying is I will tell you at the time I will keep you in suspense."
His answer was lambasted on social media as people tweeted their anger.
Clinton hit out at Trump's response saying: "That's horrifying . Every time Donald thinks things aren't going in his direction whatever it is, is rigged against him."
She then cited the FBI investigation against her, which he branded rigged, and when Trump University was accused of fraud and racketeering.
She also joked much to the audiences's amusement he also said he failure to win an Emmy was rigged to which he huffed: "should have got it."
Trump then went on to say sexual assault claims against him had been 'debunked' and said he hadn't even apologised to his wife Melania.
Key moments in the final Presidential debate:
- Donald Trump refuses to say whether he will accept the result of the election should he lose
- The Republican candidate brought four mothers whose children have been killed by illegal immigrants to the debate – to reaffirm his tough stance on immigration
- His guests also included Barack Obama’s estranged half-brother Obama
- Hillary Clinton blasted her opponent’s economic plans as “trickle down economics on steroids.”
- The pair exchange words on Putin with Clinton claiming Trump would be "a puppet"
- The bad-tempered debate included Trump calling Clinton a “nasty woman.”
- The former Apprentice host also said allegations of sexual assault against him had been “debunked.”
- His claim that "nobody has more respect for women than I do" drew laughter from the Las Vegas audience.
The pair inevitably went head to head on immigration, with the billionaire saying there were four mothers in the audience whose children were killed by illegal immigrants.
He announced: "We have some bad hombres here, and we have to get 'em out."
Trump then said the wall he had pledged to build along the U.S.-Mexico border was something Clinton had supported when she was a senator.
'Hillary Clinton wanted the wall. Hillary Clinton fought for the wall in 2006, or thereabouts. Now she never gets anything done, so naturally the wall wasn't built,' he said.
She mocked went on to mock him for meeting with Mexico's president but not mentioning the issue, saying: "he choked" and added "I voted for border security."
He retorted: "And the wall."
The gloves were off in the political debate with Trump bringing in a cast of guests, including Barack Obama's estranged half-brother Malik.
Political commentator Van Jones speaking on CNN said: "This is a very sad day. You cannot polish a t**d....It is an outrage. An appalling lack of patriotism of this man."
Trump descended to insults during the debate, calling Clinton a “nasty woman” and saying “I have heard nasty things about you.”
The 90 minute debate covered abortion, gun rights, the Supreme Court, Wikileaks emails, and sexual misconduct accusations which were made against Trump.
And he wasn’t pulling any punches when it came to criticising Hillary – as she spoke out about social security issues he interrupted saying: “such a nasty horrid woman.”
He then continued saying some of her allies had said mean things about her suggesting John Podesta and Bernie Sanders have both questioned her judgement.
“You're the one that's unfit,” Trump said to Clinton. “WikiLeaks just came out. John Podesta said some horrible things about you. Bernie Sanders, he said you have bad judgement. You do.”
The property tycoon also claimed allegations of sexual assault by nine women had been “debunked” at the Las Vegas showdown.
When asked about the numerous stories that he had behaved inappropriately, he insisted he never touched any women without their consent.
‘Those stories have been largely debunked,’ the Republican nominee then went on to say he hadn’t even apologised to wife Melania about it.
Melania went on record in an interview on Monday saying she believed her husband.
He then put the blame at the women's door, and Clinton saying: "I think they either want fame, or her campaign did it."
However polls after the TV showdown seemed to suggest Clinton had won the hearts of viewers - she was leading Trump by between 5 and 7 percentage points in most opinion surveys.
The CNN/ ORC poll suggested she was topping her opponent by a 13-point margin.
