Mel Gibson cleared to testify against sex shame movie mogul Harvey Weinstein
MEL Gibson has been cleared to testify against sex shame movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.
The Braveheart star, 66, is lined up to tell a jury about a conversation he had with a masseuse, who is one of Weinstein’s latest accusers.
His involvement was challenged by lawyers for the Oscar-winning producer at the start of his trial in LA on 11 charges of sex assault and rape.
They said Gibson’s anti-Semitic remarks in 2006 and 2010 meant he would be biased against Weinstein, who is Jewish.
But judges ruled it had little bearing on his testimony about his conversation with the masseuse.
The decision means two of Hollywood’s once-biggest hitters, both caught up in scandals, will face off across the courtroom.

Weinstein, 70, got 23 years’ jail in New York in 2020 for sex crimes, which he is appealing.
At the time, he appealed the decision, but the New York appeals court upheld the court's initial ruling.
At least 100 women have accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct.
The former film producer has "unequivocally denied" all allegations.
