Female passenger suffers fatal heart attack on flight to UK as cops and medics rush to meet jumbo jet at Heathrow
A FEMALE passenger tragically passed away on a flight to the UK today.
The woman suffered a fatal heart attack at 30,000ft during the transatlantic journey to Heathrow Airport.
She had left Houston in the US for the nine-hour United Airlines Flight UA880 to London on Tuesday.
The 51-year-old was travelling in the economy section when she suddenly went into cardiac arrest.
Distraught onlookers, including families with young children, looked on helplessly.
An aviation source said: "This was incredibly upsetting for the entire crew and cabin.
"Passengers were visibly upset at having to witness what happened."
Police were called to meet the jumbo jet on touchdown at Heathrow Airport after the tragedy onboard.

Emergency services were waiting to board the aircraft on arrival at Terminal 2 at 07.07am to recover the body and speak to shell-shocked passengers and crew.
Scotland Yard told The Sun: "Police were called at 06:42hrs on Wednesday, 5 October following reports that a 51-year-old woman had died on a flight arriving into Terminal 2 at Heathrow from the United States. Officers attended.
"The woman’s death was unexpected, it has been investigated and is not suspicious.
"Her next of kin are aware and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson told The Sun: "We were called at 6:33am today to reports of a passenger having suffered a cardiac arrest onboard a flight due to arrive at Heathrow Airport Terminal 2.
"We sent two cycle paramedics and an incident response officer. Sadly, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene."
