TWO imposters blagged their way onto the Olympic Heroes parade on Monday using nothing more than Team GB gear and PLASTIC medals.

They said they were "ushered on against [their] will" as the ceremony in honour of British sporting legends passed through Manchester on Monday.

A reporter from Sky News even interviewed the pair on live TV as they tried to pass themselves off as fencing gold medallists.

The parade saw Team GB heroes jump on and off the float at different points of the route, with stops manned by security officials and police.

But the pair of blaggers made their way on-board near the start of the ceremony at the same time as the gold medal-winning women's hockey team and modern pentathlon stars.

They eventually admitted being fakes while one posed to camera biting his 'gold' medal.

One said: "We got the medals and we just thought, you know, we'd give it a go.

"We actually got ushered on, it was actually completely against our will.

"We blag something every now and then but we're going to get off at the next stop."

While the sports stars seemed amused by the pair, security officials will be worried at the lack of protection offered to high profile Brit athletes.

Theresa May was also present at the event, as well as important officials from the British Olympic Association.

The Sun has contacted the BOA for a response.
