Billy Bush FIRED by NBC after leak of sexist Trump tape where TV host is heard laughing along to billionaire’s ‘grab her by the p****’ rant
Nephew of former president George W Bush was face of Access Hollywood show that featured Trump in 2005
US TV host Billy Bush has been sacked in the wake of the sexist Trump tape scandal.
The 'Today' show star, 44, was dumped by network NBC after he was heard in a leaked 2005 recording laughing along to the future presidential candidate bragging about groping women.
The nephew of former US president George W Bush had been suspended on the morning the scandal broke on October 7.
Bush, who had been on the Today show for only two months, was described as "a valued colleague and longtime member of the broader NBC family" in a note from the programme's top executive Noah Oppenheim to staff.
Bush said he looked forward to "what lies ahead", revealing he had "conversations with his daughters" for which he is "deeply grateful".
The infamous recording came from an unaired segment of an episode of Access Hollywood, a celebrity gossip show Bush fronted for 15 years.
In it, he can be heard laughing as Trump talks about fame enabling him to grope and try to have sex with women.
"Grab them by the p*****. You can do anything", Trump added, as he also talked about about trying to seduce Access Hollywood employee Nancy O'Dell.
Trump has since dismissed groping women, describing the recording as unfortunate "locker room talk".
Since its release a flood of sexual assault allegations have been made against the billionaire property tycoon, including former Apprentice contestant Summer Zervos.
The Republican candidate's wife Melania has said she was "surprised" by her husband's vulgar conversation in the recording, which was uncovered by the Washington post.
She told CNN she thinks Bush could have "egged on" Trump to engage in what she described as "boy chat".
