Police claim Connor took Amber’s clothes off and repeatedly hit her head and body before using his hands to strangle his sister.

The young man also faces charges of attempting to defeat the ends of justice and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Prosecutors claim he got rid of the clothes he’d been wearing and also called the children’s home where Amber had been staying to pretend she was still alive.

He is accused of telling cops he had last seen his sister walking off from an argument near a community centre in Hamilton on the day of the alleged murder.
