Dramatic footage shows the suspect being arrested in the São Paulo municipality of São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil after he attempted to flee by car but crashed into three other vehicles.

Seven women reported the 36-year-old to the authorities claiming they were tricked into lending him sums of money - with one of the alleged victims claiming he borrowed £35,000 from her.

Investigators discovered that Renan had multiple profiles on dating apps including Tinder, Happn and Lovoo under the name Augusto Keller, reports .

The alleged conman, who has been wanted since last year, would claim his parents were Germans who died in a car accident in Aracatuba.

He posed as a civil engineer who enjoys cooking and is looking for a serious relationship.

The alleged scammer would then start dating his victims- all aged between 34-40, working in high-earning positions- and even meeting their families.

His next step would be borrowing sums of money professing he had financial difficulties before disappearing.

In one case he even suggested starting up a business with one of the women but of course, disappeared once he got the money, reports.

He was finally caught during a joint operation by Police and the Public Ministry.

Prosecutor Erika Pucci da Costa Leal, who is working on the case, said: "Augusto presents himself as an affectionate, attentive man, with stories of the absence of a close family or a heavy workload to prevent the victim from being included in his social circle."

He has never deleted any of his profiles on dating apps and they were still active at the time of his arrest.

His Tinder bio reads: "I've been single for a year. I joined the app looking for a serious relationship, if you're looking for sex or fun, please skip my profile."

Pucci believes that there are more victims and has called for women who think have been scammed by Renan to come forward.
