The glamorous Instagram user, who has over 556,000 followers, even posted photos of the letter she received from authorities.

Veronika explained in her post that she was in Paris when she got a call from her mum saying police turned up at the house looking for her in August.

Veronika said her 14-year-old brother, who was at the family home at the time, was left confused when cops came looking for her.

The influencer said that she was threatened with prison time claiming she "drew too much attention".

According to Russian , the letter, sent by Kuntsevo Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office, accused the teenager of performing "actions to attract users on the social networks Facebook and Instagram".

It says the influencer is the first person to be prosecuted after Instagram and Facebook's ban in the country.

Veronika slammed the allegations and said in her post: "Are you serious? Me? An 18-year-old girl and fashion blogger?

"Entrepreneur, creator of a clothing brand who pays taxes to his own country?

"A person who posts about mental health support and never touched a political agenda on his blog? Yup. Just like that.

";You live, take beautiful photos, build a business, help people, do not touch anyone.

"But you live in Russia, and among a million bloggers they come to you."

Russian President Vladimir Putin banned Western social media back in March with Moscow branding the firm an extremist organisation and opening a criminal case against it.
