‘Five-star’ fry up costs a whopping £21.50, but could be made for just 68p – exposing an incredible 3,000 per cent mark-up

Top food critic Giles Coren described Oxford's Macdonald Randolph Hotel's over-priced English breakfast as the 'worst meal' he's ever bought

THIS £21.50 breakfast has been described by a top food critic as the “worst meal” he has been sold anywhere in the world.

Giles Coren told how the mushrooms in the fry-up at the five-star Macdonald Randolph Hotel, Oxford, were so awful they looked “like cuttings from the scrotum of a tanned badger”.

He added that the measly sausage was partly burnt and the single hash brown cold in the middle.
