Apprentice star’s cousin is murderer serving 30 years for shooting dead music producer
APPRENTICE hopeful Paul Sullivan's cousin is a renowned rapper serving life in prison for gunning down a music producer in a row over song lyrics.
Shocking details have emerged about the reality TV contestant's cousin Carl Dobson, who was a London grime artist before he was jailed in 2006 for killing track producer Richard Holmes.
Dobson, a.k.a. rapper Crazy Titch, shot Holmes dead in a row over rap lyrics that "disrespected" a family member.
Information about the rapper's violent past have emerged as his relative, marketing exec Paul, 38, tries to land a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar in the boardroom.
Dobson, who was 23 at the time, was furious after Holmes produced a song with lyrics slamming his half-brother Dwayne Mahorn, also known as rapper Durrty Goodz.
The song, by rival rapper Shaba Shah, accused Mahorn of having "lost touch with his roots".
Shaba's lyrics said: "Over the years, things change in the hood. I used to have a lot of respect for Durrty Goodz - Not no more."
Wielding a handgun and MAC-10 machine gun, Dobson and an associate confronted Richard, 21, in Chingford Hall Estate, East London.
As other fled, the two riddled the producer with bullets, blasting him in the back and leg.
Dobson - who once sparred with rapper Dizzy Rascal in a MC battle in 2003 - was banged up for a minimum of 30 years at the Old Bailey, along with his murderous partner.
The violent criminal is related to new apprentice star Paul through his mother, who is from St. Lucia.
A source close to the hopeful entrepreneur said: "He and Carl knew each other growing up but didn’t see much of each other after Carl was about ten.
"He knew what happened and felt Carl had had a tough life."
Paul is the owner and director of a marketing company specialising in finance, technology, construction and property.
In a promotional clip for the show, the 'self-proclaimed charmer' said: "I'm a man's ma. Sporty, football, go down the pub. I like to have fun."
On Thursday both Apprentice teams failed their task and no one was fired - a first for the reality show.
