Disgraced Labour MP Simon Danczuk calls in cops after highly intimate snaps of MP on a bed were posted online
Politician's leaked photos appear to feature Danczuk on a bed with a close-up of his face with his head on a pillow
DISGRACED MP Simon Danczuk has spoken to police after highly intimate pictures of him were circulated online.
Officers are said to be looking into whether distribution of the images, which show the politician on a bed, falls under revenge porn laws.
The snaps appear to have been taken by Danczuk, 49, and feature a close-up of his face with his head on a pillow.
It is understood the images were initially sent to one of his former lovers and then circulated further.
Sources yesterday said the police investigation is at an early stage.
Around 200 people have been prosecuted for revenge porn since the law came into force around 18 months ago.
It makes it illegal to disclose a “private sexual photograph or film” without consent of the person shown.
The news comes weeks after the backbencher was told he would not face charges over allegations of a rape from 2006.
He was interviewed in January over claims made by a 39-year-old woman, but cleared after a ten-month inquiry.
Simon Danczuk’s recent political career has been overshadowed by controversy.
He was suspended by the Labour Party last December for sending sex texts to a 17-year-old performing arts student.
He also divorced from wife Karen, 33, in the same month.
And in August the politician revealed that he had sex with a 22-year-old woman on his constituency office desk after exchanging 6,000 filthy messages.
He admitted he had been “immature, kamikaze and irresponsible when it comes to sex” and vowed to seek professional help for relationship issues.
